Deep Waters by Kate Charles
We are happy to claim Kate Charles as a local author since she grew up in Bloomington/Normal, graduated from ISU and has appeared at the Morton Library. Since she has lived in England for over 20 years, her mysteries are set in England and involve the Church of England. "Deep Waters" is the third in her Callie Anson series. Callie is a likeable and very human woman curate serving as an assistant to the vicar of the church. The crib death of a the child of a celebrity couple and the murder of a college professor manage to entangle Callie and her boyfriend Mark in a situation that threatens their relationship and their jobs. Kate's characters change and grow and her plots are getting better and better. Recommended as a cozy mystery. JES
