Look Again by Lisa Scottoline

It started with one of those white postcards in the mail saying "Have you seen this child?" and a photo of a little boy. Reporter and single mom Ellen Gleeson was stunned by the resemblence in the photo to her own three-year-old adopted son. Haunted by the picture and new questions about her son's adoption, Ellen begins investigating. Suddenly people involved in her son's adoption start dying--a nanny, the lawyer and the alleged birthmother. Ellen realizes that her child's life and her own are now in danger. Someone does not want the originial kidnapping or adoption revealed. Ellen's persistence has put her job, her budding romance, and her own and her child's life in danger.
This story started slow, and became riveting with several shocking twists towards the end. In typical Lisa Scottoline style, the protagonist is a young woman working alone uncovering a dangerous mystery, with an unexpected ending. I highly recommend this story. GG
